About DualStak Networks
DUALSTAK NETWORKS SDN BHD (Company No. 848229-A) is a privately owned corporation created to pursue extraordinary potential opportunities in the network products space related to the early adoption and large-scale deployment of the Second Internet based on IPv6, the successor to the first generation Internet Protocol (IPv4).
The company is a Joint Venture between InfoWeapons Corporation (InfoWeapons) and I.S. Technologies & Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (ISTECH; Company No. 375371-M). InfoWeapons is a leader in IPv6 technologies, creating and providing secure, intuitive, and reliable networking appliance products and services that enable customers to make the rapid transition to the Second Internet based on IPv6. ISTECH is an ICT solutions provider and system integrator. A Bumiputera company with established roots in the Malaysian market, it focuses on three key areas namely: Wired and Wireless Networking, Electronic Security and Surveillance, and Integrated Application Systems. The new company brings together the strengths of these partners, effectively extending its regional presence, deepening capital resources and assets, and complementing development work with skilled engineers and management.
DualStak Networks offers a comprehensive and unique mix of IPv6 expertise, technologies, services and products that will make it one of the earliest leaders in this new market space, and literally years ahead of competitors trying to service the many organizations that already want to deploy IPv6 on a large scale. With products in various essential areas in the IPv6 revolution and some of the best expertise in the world, the company can benefit from any generalised migration – and even some very specialised ones – to the Second Internet.
The Name
"Dual stack" is a transition mechanism from the First Internet (based solely on IPv4) to a new generation of networks that also incorporate IPv4’s successor protocol, IPv6. Given the number of users and amount of network equipment currently in use, it is not possible to simply cut off IPv4 and begin using solely IPv6. Hence, a transition period of several years will be required and the best approach is to run both IPv4 and IPv6 network stacks on most nodes and routers.
This is exactly what DualStak Networks is all about. More than the coming together of two dynamic organizations, this joint-venture is a bold step to assume leadership in the current transition. It combines the IPv6 expertise of InfoWeapons and the proven track record of ISTECH to deliver superior products and services. As the world moves to a new and better Internet, DualStak Networks will be leading the way.
The Logo
The use of a router to symbolize the company is a recognition of the need for the current Internet infrastructure, particularly nodes and routers, to be upgraded and become IPv6-enabled. The blue and red discs on top of each other signify the dual-stack or co-existence of IPv4 and IPv6 during the transition to full IPv6 adoption. Finally, the arrows represent the crossroad we have reached and the need for a new technology leader like DualStak Networks to drive the next evolution of the Internet.
